Everyone Should Know How to Sell

Seth Godin's list of Top 1,000 Things to Know ranks How to Sell #18 out of 1,000. It's true. We all do it anyway, just not very well. If you ever tried to borrow the family car or ask for a raise, you were selling. And it's often more difficult to sell an intangible product like a concept or idea. Remember that the next time you ask for a raise.

Unfortunately, the sales profession is often maligned. In fact, it's a practical skill and should be taught beginning in high school with other business skills. Let's hear it for sales, a must know skill. Of course, your PDA can be an integral part of your sales strategy allowing you to store contacts, schedule appointments, track tasks and gather pertinent information.
